Thank you for your support
December 2021
Dear FRIENDS,
Every day, your support makes stories like this possible. During the past 25 years, we have created something unique, something magical. Imagine having a safe and accepting environment for young people who are vulnerable every time they speak; having unconditional acceptance for those who feel alone and misunderstood. This is the magic that Friends provides. Friends transforms fear into hope for young people who stutter and their families.
“At Friends, my daughter and I found a family. We found acceptance, hope, and peace.”
“My son often feels out of place in a world that lacks patience and empathy. At Friends, the knowledge and encouragement we left with has changed our lives forever.”
The Friends team has a deep dedication to our mission: to instill a sense of empowerment, create an environment where feelings of isolation disappear, and foster confidence and self-esteem. In addition to our three-day annual convention, regional one-day conferences, and mentoring program, we have reached over 1300 new people through our monthly children, teen, adult, and parent virtual groups, and Community Speaker series, all at no cost to attendees. And we are just getting started. Our Board of Directors consists of some of the brightest and most dedicated leaders in the stuttering community, working on new ways of reaching even more children and families to show them that they are not alone.
“At Friends, I hear strength and courage sound like a hundred different things. I learn that the best voices are not the ones that are untroubled, but the ones that don’t stop trying.”
FRIENDS will not stop trying. Please join us and include Friends in your year-end giving. Together we can help children who stutter find their voice.
With gratitude,
Our organization earned a 2021 Gold Seal of Transparency. By adding information about our goals, strategies, capabilities, and vision, we are highlighting the difference we help to make in the world. You can visit our GuideStar Nonprofit Profile here.
We offer financial help in the form of grants to help families afford the cost of registration and the hotel.
