Non-Discrimination Policy

We are here to serve all members of the Friends community, and we make conscious efforts to create an inclusive environment where all feel welcome. It is important to us that we cultivate an awareness of social inequities and exclusions, and we therefore seek to take a step beyond a commitment to non-discrimination by including in our programming groups of people who are systemically under-served in other contexts. At minimum, Friends does not and will not discriminate internally (in its administrative operations) or externally (in the provision of programs) on the basis of race, color, socioeconomic background, sex, gender identity, gender expression, age, disability, sexual orientation, national origin, language, religious affiliation or disaffiliation, marital status, citizenship, immigration status, political orientation, pregnancy, familial/parental status, or veteran status. This policy extends to any Friends program or activity including, but not limited to, selection of volunteers, speakers, organizers, vendors, or contractors; employment; recruitment; compensation; termination; and Board membership. At Friends, we believe everyone should be treated equally, and we are committed to ensuring that every person participating in our programs has access to the support and education that it is our mission to offer.

You have the right to be treated with respect at our events and in any communications with us. If you feel that you have been discriminated against, please let us know as soon as possible by contacting Lee Caggiano at lee@friendswhostutter.org. If you have any feedback or questions regarding our non-discrimination policy, please email us at friends@friendswhostutter.org.
